Some Love for Copper

Here’s a last minute look for Valentine’s Day! This is a bold eye look centered around a saturated reddish copper eyeshadow, with a neutral pinky-peach lip.

For this eye look, I decided to use my Lorac Pro Palette simply because it had the variety of colors and textures I wanted.

After applying an eyeshadow base, I use a flat shader brush to apply Garnet, a reddish copper shade, all over the lids and past the crease. The color is highly pigmented so a light-hand application was enough to get that intense color. I then use a fluffy brush to blend out the edges to soften the eyeshadow.

Next, I pat the color Sable, a reddish matte brown, along the upper lash line and blend the color upwards toward the crease, but never crossing the crease line. I think of this color as the middle tier or middle gradient of the smokey eye.

Using a liner brush, I line my upper lash line and three-fourths of my lower lash line with a rich deep brown called Espresso. I blend the color on both the upper and lower lash line to finish off the darkest part of the smokey eye.

To add some brightness, I apply Light Bronze onto the inner corners of my eyes using a clean eyeshadow brush and then use my finger to help blend out the color for a subtle luminosity. Afterwards I wear the Maybelline Falsies Mascara in Blackest Black for some flutter 😉

I have been loving this lip combo for awhile now! The nude pinkness of NYX’s Butter Gloss in Cream Brûlée, neutralizes the orangey-mauve tone in the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Blushing Nude. I pat the lipstick onto my lips and then apply the gloss on top. The result is a pinky-peach lip that’s forgiving for a hearty Valentine’s Day dinner and the hearty burrito I had last night.

And that’s my reddish copper inspired Valentine’s Day makeup look!

Stan Fields: Miss Rhode Island, please describe your idea of a perfect date.

Cheryl “Rhode Island”: That’s a tough one. I’d have to say April 25th. Because it’s not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket.

Miss Congeniality (2000)

LOL ahhh Miss Rhode Island.

Let me know what your idea of a perfect date is and whether or not you’d rock a neutral or bold look for Valentine’s Day. 🙂 Whether it be with friends, a special someone, or family, I hope everyone has a fantastic Valentine’s Day! Much love to everyone! ❤ ❤ ❤
